8 Reasons Your Hot Water Heater is Not Working

With so many different types of wipes available in stores and online, it can be tough to know which ones are safe to flush. Some are marketed as “flushable,” “biodegradable,” or “septic safe.” Others are specifically labeled as non-flushable. So, which can you flush?

While it’s tempting to flush napkins or wipes rather than toss them in the trash bin, it’s better in the long run to avoid it. There are certain items that should never make their way through your plumbing system, as they could result in the need for expensive plumbing repairs. These items include:

  • Facial tissues
  • Baby wipes, disinfectant wipes, moist wipes, etc.
  • Toilet bowl scrub pads
  • Napkins (paper or cloth), paper towels
  • Dental floss
  • Fats, oils, and greases
  • Hair
  • Diapers (cloth, disposable, and those deemed “flushable”)

Just don’t Flush them!

As your plumbing experts in Tampa Bay, we advise not to flush anything other than toilet paper and human waste down the toilet. Even so-called flushable or biodegradable wipes can cause serious blockages. The best way to avoid clogs and expensive plumbing problems is to dispose of wipes in the trash.
